Abstract

Industrial Ethernet (IE) is dedicated to data control and monitoring to operators, equipment, controllers, valves and sensors. Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT) measurements (in dB) is the degree of unwanted signals coupled onto adjacent wire pairs. Equal-Level Far-End Crosstalk (ELFEXT) is the ratio of the desired received signal to the undesired crosstalk at the far end. The cable type used for this experimental are CAT5e. The parameter taken for the experimental is NEXT, ELFEXT, length from 99.3 m-0.8 m and frequency range from 0-100 MHz. For the NEXT, y (9.7)(10 15)(x 10) (4.9)(10 12)(x 9) (10 9)(x 8) (1.2)(10 7)(x 7) (9)(10 6)(x 6) 0.00041x 5 0.012x 4 0.21x 3 2.1x 2 11x 92. Meanwhile for ELFEXT, y (2.5)(10 15)(x 10) (1.3)(10 12)(x 9) (2.7)(10 10)(x 8) (3.3)(10 8)(x 7) (2.4)(10 6)(x 6) 0.00011x 5 0.0033x 4 0.06x 3 0.65x 2 4.8x 92. These equations are formulated and able to provide the important features of NEXT and ELFEXT from the experimental study. © 2012 IEEE.
