The methods uses digital illustrated flashcards and the instructor as a guide of digital story creation as the basis of the framework. It includes guided learning or assistance giving concept within the storytelling process so that learner can be encouraged to getting help, motivation, feedback and assistance when they felt they need it. Flashcards was incorporated as part of the framework due to it capability to build up student competence in terminology identification, comprehension, and information recall is also being within this framework design. A tutored condition is selected as the guided learning approach to allow the student getting only the right amount of assistance without disturbing the learner motivation to learn on their own within the assistance withholding condition. © 2011 IEEE.
