By way of addition to destroying directly offshore structures, slope failures may also generate destructive tsunami waves. This study has developed a numerical model based on the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method to predict four stages of generation, propagation, run-up, and impact of tsunami phenomenon. The numerical predictions in the research were validated with results in the literature and experimental tests. The results of the physical and numerical results presented in this study effort to develop these rule of thumbs to clearly understand some of the mechanics that may play a role in the assessment of tsunami waves. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018. date: 2018 publisher: EDP Sciences official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85055472704&doi=10.1051%2fmatecconf%2f201820301001&partnerID=40&md5=08c61f22fddabd19aece487c7349956c id_number: 10.1051/matecconf/201820301001 full_text_status: none publication: MATEC Web of Conferences volume: 203 refereed: TRUE issn: 2261236X citation: Huan, V.N.P. and Harahap, I.S.H. and Alaloul, W.S.
