Hence, the objective of this study is to dry stingless bees pot pollen by a novel fluidized bed dryer. The experimental analysis was conducted based on flowrate, airflow temperature, power consumption and sample mass. It was found that the mass of pot pollen can be reduced by 6.86 in 30 minutes of drying operation. The temperature rise is also minimal up to average of 31.5°C. This significantly reduced the impact of drying not only to the nutrients, but also the flavour and aroma. Moreover, the total energy consumed is 212.57 Wh, which is considered low. Hence, this preliminary study showed the feasibility of drying pot pollen using a novel fluidized bed dryer. © 2018 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences. date: 2018 publisher: EDP Sciences official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85056790787&doi=10.1051%2fmatecconf%2f201822504007&partnerID=40&md5=e2ed3018275a5403c5e9d4bcab6af282 id_number: 10.1051/matecconf/201822504007 full_text_status: none publication: MATEC Web of Conferences volume: 225 refereed: TRUE issn: 2261236X citation: Halim, L.A. and Basrawi, F. and Chong, J.Z. and Oumer, A.N. and Yudin, A.S.M. and Yusof, M.H.B. and Sulaiman, S.A.
