However, a common issue in receiver-based routing is the unnecessary formation of multiple paths when contending nodes are out of wireless range of each other. In this paper, a receiver-based routing scheme is proposed to avoid the unwanted multipath formation issue. A forwarding zone with a predefined forwarding angle of 60° is used, whereas the waiting time criteria is set based on the geographic progress of the forwarding vehicle toward destination. The performance of the proposed scheme in terms of packet delivery ratio (PDR) and number of packets forwarded under two different scenarios is analyzed. Finally, performance analysis under real map scenario is planned as part of the future work. © 2018 IEEE. publisher: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. date: 2018 type: Conference or Workshop Item type: PeerReviewed identifier: Husain, K. and Awang, A. and Kamel, N.
