Converter models for simulation are designed for the forward and backup modes of operation. The results are analyzed and compared with the expected ideal operation to confirm the validity of the models. An objective function of the converter efficiency in the forward mode operation is derived and a constrained optimization on the objective function is performed. The design and analysis of the converter with the Genetic Algorithm are performed using software tools within the MATLAB/ SIMULINK environment. The analysis with Simulated Annealing and Scatter Search methods are performed using codes written in C. The derived optimal parameters of the converter from Genetic Algorithm method are compared with those obtained using the other two intelligent techniques. date: 2010 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-79952753959&doi=10.1109%2fICIAS.2010.5716116&partnerID=40&md5=f33087ff512d468bf5451af6b80e7f8e id_number: 10.1109/ICIAS.2010.5716116 full_text_status: none publication: 2010 International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems, ICIAS 2010 place_of_pub: Kuala Lumpur refereed: TRUE isbn: 9781424466238 citation: Rama Rao, K.S. and Chew, C.-K.
