Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS) is a recent technological development in electrical power system that has come up to alleviate the said operational problems. The development of SE algorithm suitable for power systems embedded with the FACTS controller, Unified Power Flow Controllers (UPFC), is more realistic. In this paper, elements of the state estimation Jacobian matrix are obtained considering the power flow measurements in the network elements. These elements are processed one-by-one and the Jacobian matrix H is updated suitably in a simple manner. The constructed Jacobian matrix H is integrated with Weight Least Square method to estimate the state variables. The suggested procedure is successfully tested on IEEE standard systems.}, keywords = {Electrical power system; FACTS controller; Flexible alternating current transmission systems; High transmission loss; IEEE standards; Jacobians; Least square methods; Network element; Newton-Raphson; Operational problems; Power systems; State variables; Technological development; Thermal limits; Transmission line; Unified power flow controllers; Voltage limits; Weight Least Square (WLS), Controllers; Electric power transmission; Embedded systems; Estimation; Flow control; Jacobian matrices; Least squares approximations; State estimation; System stability, Electric control equipment}, url = {https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-79952771353&doi=10.1109\%2fICIAS.2010.5716250&partnerID=40&md5=02f4eebf6ed91f14846fd27649d732f9}, isbn = {9781424466238}, author = {Nor, N.
