Gait can be specified in terms of motor skill functions such as walking, jogging running, and jumping. Walking is the basic form in the human gait study. The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect on muscle activities of human walking on lower extremities in a barefoot condition and wearing of athletic shoe. The experimental work is conducted using the surface electromyography to measure the muscle activities on the lower extremities. It is envisaged that the research would enable improved designs of footwear insole based on the gait analysis to improve pain or injuries of lower extremities. © 2016 IEEE. date: 2017 publisher: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85012031815&doi=10.1109%2fICIAS.2016.7824140&partnerID=40&md5=7a33f964b8c336e72c27aa3383c694a3 id_number: 10.1109/ICIAS.2016.7824140 full_text_status: none publication: International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems, ICIAS 2016 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9781509008452 citation: Nurhanim, K. and Elamvazuthi, I. and Izhar, L.I.
