Typically, towing tank tests are used to determine its hydrodynamic forces and moments. In this paper, an alternative method to determine these forces and moments based on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are proposed and validated analytically. In addition, the determination of added masses and inertia masses of a newly developed underwater glider based on its pure heaving and pure pitching motion are described. In conclusion, CFD simulation can be used as an alternative method to evaluate the acceleration based derivatives of an underwater glider. © 2017 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved. date: 2017 publisher: American Scientific Publishers official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85057640841&doi=10.1166%2fasl.2017.8361&partnerID=40&md5=004667af0145948defa222f33b39eacf id_number: 10.1166/asl.2017.8361 full_text_status: none publication: Advanced Science Letters volume: 23 number: 2 pagerange: 1388-1392 refereed: TRUE issn: 19366612 citation: Javaid, M.Y. and Ovinis, M. and Hashim, F.B.M. and Maimun, A. and Ahmed, Y.M. and Ullah, B.
