When gearing toward control application of these technologies a common factor that often being considered is network latency or known as delay. Although the typical network round trip (upstream, and downstream) delays have been reported in recent researches, only few have discussed on the relationship between message payload length and the network induced delays. Therefore, this paper carries out an investigation into the effect of variable payload on the delay of control message sending from controller to plant actuator using the widely preferred industrial wireless technology, WirelessHART. © 2016 IEEE. date: 2017 publisher: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85015879991&doi=10.1109%2fROMA.2016.7847798&partnerID=40&md5=ea47f36c73849054bf395c3e24f40000 id_number: 10.1109/ROMA.2016.7847798 full_text_status: none publication: 2016 2nd IEEE International Symposium on Robotics and Manufacturing Automation, ROMA 2016 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9781509009282 citation: Chung, T.D. and Ibrahim, R. and Asirvadam, V.S. and Saad, N. and Hassan, S.M.
