In this works, geopolymer is produced from flyash as raw material and low concentration of KOH as alkali activator without sodium silicate. The highest concentration of 5.5 M KOH resulted in 3 hours setting time. The highest compressive strength obtained was 21.91 MPa at 4.5 M KOH at curing temperature of 60 oC which reflects good mechanical property and can be developed for coatings. Subsequently, geopolymers synthesized were characterized for possible application as coating for urea. By determining the capability of transportation of urea through geopolymer film showed that the diffusion coefficient of 3.6E-08 m2/s was obtained and reach equilibrium after 20 days © 2016 The Authors. date: 2016 publisher: Elsevier Ltd official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85013967581&doi=10.1016%2fj.proeng.2016.06.545&partnerID=40&md5=ec971a7d33dca3f39722b7c972df453e id_number: 10.1016/j.proeng.2016.06.545 full_text_status: none publication: Procedia Engineering volume: 148 pagerange: 128-135 refereed: TRUE issn: 18777058 citation: Rahmiati, T. and Azizli, K. and Man, Z.
