To have an optimum plant intake of nutrients from controlled release fertilizer it is very essential to understand the release characteristics. A mathematical model is developed to predict the release characteristics from polymer coated granule. Numerical simulations are performed by varying the parameters radius of granule, soil water content and soil porosity to study their effect on fertilizer release. Understanding these parameters helps in the better design and improve the efficiency of controlled release fertilizer. © 2016 Author(s). date: 2016 publisher: American Institute of Physics Inc. official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85005993427&doi=10.1063%2f1.4968164&partnerID=40&md5=53c7e4758a2e843e4de430a731b36902 id_number: 10.1063/1.4968164 full_text_status: none publication: AIP Conference Proceedings volume: 1787 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9780735414518 issn: 0094243X citation: Irfan, S.A. and Razali, R. and Shaari, K.Z.K. and Mansor, N.
