The simulation was done using an in-house code developed in the programming platform of Visual C++. The Finite Volume Method was used to compute numerically the solutions of the Navier-Stokes equation under turbulent conditions. The Quadratic Upstream Interpolation for Convective Kinetics (QUICK) numerical scheme was utilized with the Semi-Implicit Pressure Linked Equations (SIMPLE) as an algorithm. The code consists of a steady three-dimensional turbulent solver using the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) turbulent model. The simulated velocity flow profile was then compared against experimental data. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2015. date: 2015 publisher: Springer Verlag official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84914690112&doi=10.1007%2f978-3-319-02836-1_2&partnerID=40&md5=392dddacf177346603d47c7eddd676e2 id_number: 10.1007/978-3-319-02836-1₂ full_text_status: none publication: Advanced Structured Materials volume: 44 pagerange: 17-32 refereed: TRUE issn: 18698433 citation: Ganesan, T. and Awang, M.
