Therefore, proper tuning of these motors is crucial. This paper focuses on using nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithms due to its' capability to improve the current control systems in terms of rise time, settling time, overshoot and steady state error. Algorithms that have been investigated are the Cuckoo Search (CS) in tuning the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller. © 2015 IEEE. date: 2015 publisher: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84966589344&doi=10.1109%2fSCORED.2015.7449309&partnerID=40&md5=066ae0bf513ba3da7ac9755f7883924a id_number: 10.1109/SCORED.2015.7449309 full_text_status: none publication: 2015 IEEE Student Conference on Research and Development, SCOReD 2015 pagerange: 129-133 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9781467395724 citation: Singh, K.S.M.J. and Elamvazuthi, I. and Shaari, K.Z.K. and Lima, F.V.
