In particularly, in Europe, its level of emission is quite high due to power plants and their industrial processes. Thus, more attention is paid to it on account of its potential hazard for workers and environment. It is vital that its level of pollution should be decreased by emission sources. The paper highlights the basic mercury sources in Europe. It also provides details about transportation of mercury into human body via different systems. Moreover, the associated hazards and preventive steps are widely discussed. Finally, mercury removal technologies are presented. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London. date: 2015 publisher: CRC Press official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85054764525&doi=10.1201%2fb18042&partnerID=40&md5=0fc65c0de0a86a9988c0000c36499046 id_number: 10.1201/b18042 full_text_status: none publication: Occupational Safety and Hygiene III pagerange: 411-415 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9781315692937; 9781138027657 citation: Abbas, T. and Nazir, S. and Mrugalska, B. and Mutalib, M.I.A.
