The bacterial strains used were Escheria coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus Subbtilis and Escheria coli. Similarly, fungal strains used were Aspergillus niger, Alternaria alternate and Aspergillus flavus for the purpose to check the capability of the compound 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 as antibactrial and antifungicides. The results showed that the monometallic complexes are more effective against bacterial and fungal strains than the ligand. The lignad was further reacted indvidually with series of transition metals including Zn (II), Co (II), Mn (II) and Cu (II) (Bis(2--(2- phenylhydrazinylidene)methylphenolato)M(II)) where M = Zn, Co, Mn, Cu. The ligand was analysed by different spectroscopic tools as FT-IR, MS and NMR while the complexes were characterized by FT-IR and XRD. © 2014 - IOS Press and the authors. A1 - Pervaiz, M.
