The removal of chlorate by the activated carbon is enhanced at higher chlorate concentrations, lower temperatures and lower pH. Presence of chlorine in the brine reduces the adsorption of chlorate and is suspected to compete for the same active sites. Chlorate is best removed from de-chlorinated brine. © 2014 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. date: 2014 publisher: Trans Tech Publications Ltd official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84914099827&doi=10.4028%2fwww.scientific.net%2fAMM.625.885&partnerID=40&md5=8ba57dbc5bdc753f45768fbce63d4e80 id_number: 10.4028/www.scientific.net/AMM.625.885 full_text_status: none publication: Applied Mechanics and Materials volume: 625 pagerange: 885-888 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9783038351818 issn: 16609336 citation: Lakshmanan, S. and Murugesan, T.
