The dissociation temperature was determined for methane gas hydrates using a high pressure micro deferential scanning calorimeter at a pressure range of 36-97 bar. Both ionic liquids (ILs) were studied at concentrations of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 wt% then their performance was compared with commercially available inhibitors. It was observed that both ILs shift the methane hydrate equilibrium curve to lower temperature and higher pressure; and the performance of OH-EMIMCl is better than OH-EMIMBr. Nevertheless both of them were found to be less effective compared to methanol and mono ethylene glycol. © 2014 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. date: 2014 publisher: Trans Tech Publications Ltd official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84914146120&doi=10.4028%2fwww.scientific.net%2fAMM.625.337&partnerID=40&md5=c675f98b58b5f53a982672734e14f4a5 id_number: 10.4028/www.scientific.net/AMM.625.337 full_text_status: none publication: Applied Mechanics and Materials volume: 625 pagerange: 337-340 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9783038351818 issn: 16609336 citation: Nashed, O. and Sabil, K.M. and Lal, B. and Ismail, L. and Jaafar, A.J.
