The proposed approach uses simple mathematical formulae, applied on a matrix representing the batch process recipes according to a selected production sequence. Rearrangement of the matrix rows according to the varied production sequences possible for the specified batch process recipes enables the makespan to be determined for each sequence. Designer is then provided with the production sequence options with its corresponding makespan from which a selection could be made according to the process conditions. © 2008 Asian Network for Scientific Information. date: 2008 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-46149105443&doi=10.3923%2fjas.2008.1706.1712&partnerID=40&md5=80e7578b4b40a85e1fc8a252f270ba38 id_number: 10.3923/jas.2008.1706.1712 full_text_status: none publication: Journal of Applied Sciences volume: 8 number: 9 pagerange: 1706-1712 refereed: TRUE issn: 18125654 citation: Shafeeq, A. and Mutalib, M.I.A. and Amminudin, K.A. and Muhammad, A.
