They all have been synthesized and characterized by various spectroscopic techniques (elemental analysis, FTIR, and 1H NMR and the ligand 1,3-bis(2-methoxyphenyl) thiourea was synthesized by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique). The synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against four strains of bacteria (Escherichia coli, Shigella flexneri, Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus subtilis). The antitumor potential was evaluated in terms of activity against brine shrimp eggs and DNA interaction. The mixed ligand complexes have exhibited moderate antibacterial activity and promising antitumor potential. © 2014 Hizbullah Khan et al. date: 2014 publisher: Hindawi Publishing Corporation official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84935845137&doi=10.1155%2f2014%2f916361&partnerID=40&md5=bd37cf222286a396d630df430675f381 id_number: 10.1155/2014/916361 full_text_status: none publication: Bioinorganic Chemistry and Applications volume: 2014 refereed: TRUE issn: 15653633 citation: Khan, H. and Daraz, N. and Khan, M.N. and Said, M. and Akhtar, N. and Badshah, A. and Khan, A.S. and Ali, M.
