The effect of temperature (2540oC), yeast concentration (614 g/ml) and fermentation time (4896 hours) on bioethanol yield was investigated. Prior to the fermentation process, mango peels were treated with 0.251 (w/v) sulphuric acid. Optimum glucose yield was obtained at 0.25 (w/v) sulphuric acid. RSM using 3-factor 2-level central composite design (CCD) was employed to evaluate and optimize the synthesis parameters. Based on numerical optimization, the optimum fermentation conditions were at 38oC using 6 g/ml yeast for 48 hours, giving a yield of 7.34 g/ml bioethanol. © 2014 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. date: 2014 publisher: Trans Tech Publications Ltd official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84937194001&doi=10.4028%2fwww.scientific.net%2fAMM.625.766&partnerID=40&md5=a28f18e4aae590c6c0a2a71cc86aa956 id_number: 10.4028/www.scientific.net/AMM.625.766 full_text_status: none publication: Applied Mechanics and Materials volume: 625 pagerange: 766-769 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9783038351818 issn: 16609336 citation: Abdul Ghani, M.R. and Ching Peiching, O.P.
