This empirical approach is based on rock physics relation of (Qp-1/Qs-1) with bulk modulus and shear modulus. A series of test was performed on a set of data from Malay Basin Field. The test consist of numerical testing to find out the formulation of water saturation in term of seismic properties, Well log test was performed to test the formula in the well domain and to determine the constants in the equation through curve matching method and the last is the example implementation of water estimation from inverted pre stack seismic data set. The result showed that the formula is potential to be used to transform the inverted seismic data into water saturation. The coefficient correlation calculated from estimated water saturation and log of water saturation is about 0.6-0.7. Implementation on seismic data, the estimated water saturation is shown that the potential reservoir is interpretable and matches with log data. date: 2014 publisher: European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers, EAGE official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85088341486&doi=10.3997%2f2214-4609.20132139&partnerID=40&md5=171277f26e849fac9254420b102e610f id_number: 10.3997/2214-4609.20132139 full_text_status: none publication: EAGE/FESM Joint Regional Conference Petrophysics Meets Geoscience: From Nano Pores to Mega Structures place_of_pub: Kuala Lumpur refereed: TRUE citation: Hermana, M.
