The structure and morphology of the coprecipitated nano hydrotalcites and its derived mixed oxides were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transformed Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and nitrogen adsorption-desorption techniques. The results show that the synthesized materials exhibited micro-meso-pore networks. The cobalt-rich calcined hydrotalcites are generally amorphous, having a coral-like morphology whereas nickel-rich hydrotalcites show hexagonal plate-like morphology. The presence of nickel in mixed oxides catalyzed the reduction of Co-Al-O spinels. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis of HRTEM revealed the inter planner distances of the crystal of hydrotalcite. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. date: 2013 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84872560507&doi=10.4028%2fwww.scientific.net%2fAMR.626.173&partnerID=40&md5=8fb570e6841e402cb3d002d115ae1baa id_number: 10.4028/www.scientific.net/AMR.626.173 full_text_status: none publication: Advanced Materials Research volume: 626 place_of_pub: Penang pagerange: 173-177 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9783037855713 issn: 10226680 citation: Salam, M.A. and Lwin, Y. and Sufian, S.
