Intumescent fire retardant coating has been developed by using Ammonium Polyphosphate (APP), Expandable Graphite (EG), Melamine (MEL), Boric Acid, Bisphenol A (BPA) and polyamide amine as a curing agent. Thus, local inorganic fillers which are alumina (Al203), aluminum trihydrate-ATH (Al (OH)3) and fumed silica added in the fire retardant materials. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of local inorganic fillers on residual weight and char morphology of intumescent fire retardant coating. Intumescent fire retardant coating with addition of alumina fillers show greater residual weight and better char morphology. © 2013 Asian Network for Scientific Information. date: 2013 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84876979123&doi=10.3923%2fajsr.2013.263.271&partnerID=40&md5=7582df30676e2fbff9d7ba7769141415 id_number: 10.3923/ajsr.2013.263.271 full_text_status: none publication: Asian Journal of Scientific Research volume: 6 number: 2 pagerange: 263-271 refereed: TRUE issn: 19921454 citation: Farhana Mohamad, W. and Ahmad, F. and Ullah, S.
