Surface integrity and cutting temperature as the main machinability terms are widely discussed in this paper. Machining parameters, such as cutting speed, feed, depth of cut, play important roles in developing good surface finish and high quality surface integrity. Achieving good surface finish (low surface roughness) is a main objective in machining, especially for biomedical applications. Cutting temperature during machining has to be taken into considerations. High temperature during cutting leads to low surface finish and higher tool wear rate, leading to low tool life and poorer surface finish. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. date: 2013 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84884740750&doi=10.4028%2fwww.scientific.net%2fAMR.748.7&partnerID=40&md5=6ac01aecfbb2585dbbd1ae29876c4e98 id_number: 10.4028/www.scientific.net/AMR.748.7 full_text_status: none publication: Advanced Materials Research volume: 748 place_of_pub: Seoul pagerange: 7-10 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9783037857526 issn: 10226680 citation: Turnad, L.G. and Hasan, F. and Ahmad, A.-R.M. and Bambang, A.
