Wireless Ad-hoc Network is considered a promising candidate for enabling smart metering communications. This paper investigates which kind of Ad-hoc routing scheme (proactive, reactive and hybrid) will be most suitable for Smart Metering Infrastructure. Simulation studies utilizing three different topologies are conducted to analyze the performance of the protocols and relative comparison is provided based on four metrics of (i) Packet Delivery Ratio, (ii) Average Energy Consumption of Nodes (iii) Average End-End Delay and (iv) Normalized Routing Load. © 2013 The Science and Information Organization. date: 2013 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84892521328&partnerID=40&md5=41be1d387e80488bede1fca14bfa64c4 full_text_status: none publication: Proceedings of 2013 Science and Information Conference, SAI 2013 place_of_pub: London pagerange: 871-874 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9780989319300 citation: Farooq, H. and Jung, L.T.
