It depends on the accurate prediction of future demand of energy. This paper presents prediction of oil demand as one of the energy sources used in Malaysia. Mathematical model is developed from historical data to approximate the function of oil consumption. The model is approximated through nonlinear time series modeling approach. Several models of oil demand in time series polynomial equations with different order are presented and compared. These models are then be used to predict future oil demand in Malaysia until year 2020. © 2008 IEEE. date: 2008 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-57349143784&doi=10.1109%2fITSIM.2008.4632013&partnerID=40&md5=ef93fb81146b482590376d024f26e509 id_number: 10.1109/ITSIM.2008.4632013 full_text_status: none publication: Proceedings - International Symposium on Information Technology 2008, ITSim volume: 4 place_of_pub: Kuala Lumpur refereed: TRUE isbn: 9781424423286 citation: Awaludin, I. and Saad, N. and Agustiawan, H.
