Today technology has advanced and therefore it is pertinent for hospitals to fully make use of the technologies available, including hospitals in developing and under-developed countries. This paper presents a survey on level of technical and functional sophistications in nine hospitals in Pakistan, namely Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Furthermore, the hospitals' perceptions on the role of information technology in planning and management were also investigated.
