Recently, there is research focusing on high frequency powerline communication above 30 MHz. It is still relatively new and it was found that in-building powerline measurements show a potential for low attenuation applications above 30 MHz. This research focuses on broadband powerline communications in the low voltage region or end user region above 30 MHz. A study was carried out to determine the effectiveness of the powerline communications and the test setup required mainly for implementing the high pass filter was described. A model representing the propagation channel was also identified. Initial data obtained indicates that broadband powerline communications are possible over the frequency range of 300-700 MHz. © 2012 IEEE. date: 2012 type: Conference or Workshop Item type: PeerReviewed identifier: Rashid, A.H.Y. and Ellis, G.A. and Awan, M.
