Hence, efforts are in place to control CO 2 emissions into the atmosphere. CO 2 removal is also an essential step in many industrial processing operations such as coal gasification, natural gas processing and hydrogen manufacturing. Thus far, absorption is the widely used process in industrial for capturing CO 2. This paper presents a review on the factors affecting the absorption efficiency for CO 2 capture in packed column. Challenges related to the absorption efficiency improvement and the impacts to real application as well as future directions are highlighted. © 2012 The Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry. date: 2012 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84867629690&doi=10.1016%2fj.jiec.2012.05.013&partnerID=40&md5=31c5425d2e4e04a567890cada39b29a9 id_number: 10.1016/j.jiec.2012.05.013 full_text_status: none publication: Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry volume: 18 number: 6 pagerange: 1874-1883 refereed: TRUE issn: 1226086X citation: Tan, L.S. and Shariff, A.M. and Lau, K.K. and Bustam, M.A. (2012) Factors affecting CO 2 absorption efficiency in packed column: A review.
