A new model for the mass transfer between phases is proposed, and its efficiency in predicting phase transition is evaluated. Numerical simulations are compared with reference solutions computed with the two-fluid models type. The results suggest that the present model exhibits good robustness and accuracy. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.
