It is found that the major portion of the coke species was hard coke which has activation energy equal to 86.3 kJ mol-1. Slow heating rate and appropriate temperature are monitored to optimize the de-Coking process. Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis has been applied to study the structure of coke deposited on supported metal catalyst (soft coke). © 2011 Asian Network for Scientific Information. date: 2011 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-79953294367&doi=10.3923%2fjas.2011.1225.1230&partnerID=40&md5=29d855590d57afffe6b33ec04c871f11 id_number: 10.3923/jas.2011.1225.1230 full_text_status: none publication: Journal of Applied Sciences volume: 11 number: 7 pagerange: 1225-1230 refereed: TRUE issn: 18125654 citation: Ahmed, R. and Sinnathambi, C.M. and Subbarao, D.
