%X The extraction of benzothiophene from ndodecane with l-butyl-3- methylimidazolium - octylsulfate bmimOcSO 4 ionic liquid (IL) was investigated. The influence of mass ratio (IL/fuel), extraction time and temperature was studied for an optimized condition of the benzothiophene removal. The optimization process was analyzed using Central Composite Face-Centered Experimental Design by Design Expert Version 6.0.6 (Stat-Ease, USA). The satisfactory optimum mild conditions obtained were at a mass ratio (IL/fuel) of 1:1 with extraction time of 9 min at temperature of 60°C. The adequacy of the model equation for predicting the optimum response values was validated using experimental data. %K experimental study; ion; numerical model; optimization; organic compound; sulfur; temperature effect, United States %D 2011 %N 2 %O cited By 3 %J Research Journal of Chemistry and Environment %L scholars2064 %T An Optimization Study on the Extraction of Benzothiophene from Model Fuel using the Ionic Liquids 1-Butyl-3-MethylimidazoliumOctylsulfate %A B.
