The Abaqus CAE software has been utilized for the simulation study. The simulation was carried out according to the Taguchi L9 orthogonal array, with a cutting speed of 160 â�� 240 m/min, a feed rate of 0.1 â�� 0.4 mm/rev, and depth of cut of 0.15 â�� 0.35 mm. For comparison with the experiment, the parameters used in the industry were performed at a cutting speed of 200 m/min, a feed rate of 0.2 mm/rev, and depth of cut of 0.25 mm. The simulation results found that the optimal cutting parameters are at a cutting speed of 160 m/min, a depth of cut of 0.15 mm, and a feed rate of 0.1 mm/rev that resulted in minimum cutting force of 71 N, with the feed rate being the most significant factor followed by depth of cut and cutting speed. Therefore, it can be concluded that the simulation results can be considered in the machinability study of S45C material because this method saves the actual machining cost, and the results are reliable.
