Most of the existing electrical insulation materials used in high-voltage equipment are non-environmentally friendly, non-recyclable, hazardous, and flammable. Nevertheless, electrical insulation materials should be manufactured in accordance with sustainable development goals. Hence, this article discusses the current trend of eco-friendly electrical insulation materials in high-voltage equipment in terms of the development of materials and their electrical properties. The significance of this article lies in presenting future research opportunities, especially in the sustainable development of electrical insulation materials for high-voltage equipment. © 2025 Author(s). date: 2025 publisher: American Institute of Physics official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-105025986014&doi=10.1063%2f5.0294958&partnerID=40&md5=7b06b27f50bc7df87ab96ef3dd489cec id_number: 10.1063/5.0294958 full_text_status: none publication: AIP Conference Proceedings volume: 3338 number: 1 refereed: TRUE issn: 0094243X citation: Ghani, Sharin Ab and Chairul, Imran Sutan and Khiar, Mohd Shahril Ahmad and Bakar, Norazhar Abu and Rahim, Nor Hidayah and Arshad Hashim, Syahrun Nizam Md (2025) Eco-friendly electrical insulation materials in high-voltage equipment: Current trend.
