Post-disaster reconstruction (PDR) is a multifaceted and chaotic process that poses various challenges and issues. Diverse problems are associated with reconstruction projects, these include low quality, delayed schedule, and cost overrun due to different variables during implementation. Hence, this study reviews the recent findings on the reconstruction of housing projects in the wake of disasters within a developing construction industry. It focuses on the variables that influence PDR, highlighting the major challenges and limitations faced by the industry. Additionally, this study identifies key factors that play a significant character in the reconstruction processes. Finally, it provides insights into the research findings and suggestions for future studies on PDR projects. © 2024 AIP Publishing LLC. publisher: American Institute of Physics date: 2024 type: Conference or Workshop Item type: PeerReviewed identifier: Baarimah, A.O. and Alaloul, W.S. and Liew, M.S. and Al-Aidrous, A.-H.M.H. and Alawag, A.M.
