"Numerical Failure Analysis of Corroded Pipeline Elbow with Longitudinally Aligned Interacting Corrosion Defects"^^ . "This paper describes the application of finite element method (FEM) to predict the failure pressure of pipeline elbow with longitudinally aligned interacting corrosion defects subjected to internal pressure. The FEM incorporated material nonlinearity and utilized the true UTS to determine the point of failure.Finite element analysis (FEA) results were used to determine the failure pressure as well as the presence of interaction.FEA revealed that interaction occurs and is most significant when medium depth corrosion defect is at Location 1 (i.e.45 degree at the pipe bend).DNV-RP-F101s guideline for interaction limit was not applicable for medium depth corrosion defect at Location 1, while is applicable for deep corrosion defect at Location 1. © 2023, Institute of Technology PETRONAS Sdn Bhd."^^ .
