Nevertheless, prolonged use of recirculation air within a vehicle may result in high accumulation of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the vehicleâs cabin due to human exhalation and the lack of fresh air. On the other hand, allowing outside air to enter into the cabin would expose the passengers to roadway contaminants. Since the contaminants in outdoor air may not be noticeable by humans, the vehicle drivers would not be able to know if the air quality in the car cabin is a healthy one. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. date: 2023 publisher: Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85142698539&doi=10.1007%2f978-981-19-6688-0_19&partnerID=40&md5=26f336378a037259de12065c162523dc id_number: 10.1007/978-981-19-6688-0₁₉ full_text_status: none publication: Lecture Notes in Energy volume: 92 pagerange: 305-326 refereed: TRUE issn: 21951284 citation: Sulaiman, S.A. and Zali, K.A.M.
