The proposed antenna is simulated on a flexible Rogers Duroid RO3003TM material with a compact size of 38 mm 40 mm 0.5 mm. In the OFF state of the PIN diode, a single resonance (ISM 5.8 GHz) with a percentage bandwidth of 5.2 at 5.8 GHz is achieved. However, in the ON state, dual-resonance (ISM 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz) with a percentage bandwidth of 3.9 and 5.4 are achieved. Bidirectional and directional radiation patterns are observed in the E-plane while omnidirectional radiation patterns are observed in the H-plane. The proposed antenna is a good candidate for WBAN applications. © 2023 IEEE.
