VL - 2688 Y1 - 2023/// N2 - Soft soil stabilization is booming with the recent land acquisition for housing as well as industrialization schemes. The rapid urbanization expelled the boundaries of innovative research to craft the problematic lands serviceable. Apart from traditional additives, non-traditional soil stabilizers such as bitumen emulsion are widely adopted in laboratory investigations to enhance the weak engineering properties of soft soil. However, these stabilizers are pretermitted during the in-situ strength enhancement due to various reservations. Considering the strength boosting insecurity, this paper particularly highlights the soft soil strength enhancement capability by utilizing bitumen emulsion. Based on the previous studies, a brief overview has been stated in this paper which encapsulates the weak soil strength obtained by using bitumen-emulsions and its combination with other filler materials i.e., cement, fly ash, etc. Moreover, the optimum amount of bitumen emulsion and filler materials in various types of soil have been highlighted considering the important properties of soil i.e., CBR, UCS, maximum dry density, etc. Finally, the potential recommendations based on the extensive overview have been drawn to highlight the research area to be investigated. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
