In this paper analytical analysis of frequency up-conversion mechanism has been carried out in some detail. It has been shown that sources of actuation for a frequency increased generator can be categorized as force limited and displacement limited sources. Maximum energy transferring conditions have been investigated for both types. The settling time of the transient motion of the high frequency oscillator has been shown to be dependent on the seismic mass. Effects of premature excitation and natural frequency of high frequency resonator on average power have also been investigated. A relationship has been developed between frequency of ambient vibration and optimal natural frequency of frequency increased generator. © 2011 IEEE. date: 2011 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-83755173801&doi=10.1109%2fRSM.2011.6088349&partnerID=40&md5=e5aa32189bc3604ec992e88bcb1fd979 id_number: 10.1109/RSM.2011.6088349 full_text_status: none publication: 2011 IEEE Regional Symposium on Micro and Nanoelectronics, RSM 2011 - Programme and Abstracts place_of_pub: Kota Kinabalu, Sabah pagerange: 305-309 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9781612848464 citation: Ashraf, K. and Khir, M.H.M. and Dennis, J.O.
