Hence, for achieving the approximated integer-order transfer function of the fractional-order system or controller, a novel curve fitting based approximation techniques for fractional-order differentiator or integrator are developed. The advantage of the techniques is that they are simple, easy to implement and can fit around the desired frequency range. The chapter also provides the MATLAB commands for implementing the developed algorithms. The simulation results in the frequency domain show that the proposed approach produced better parameter approximation for the desired frequency range as compared to Oustaloup, refined Oustaloup, and Matsuda techniques. Furthermore, time domain and stability analysis also validate the frequency domain results. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020. date: 2020 publisher: Springer International Publishing official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85075135279&doi=10.1007%2f978-3-030-33934-0_3&partnerID=40&md5=d7ec1ff72dcb19308dd09594f842b1d6 id_number: 10.1007/978-3-030-33934-0₃ full_text_status: none publication: Studies in Systems, Decision and Control volume: 264 pagerange: 101-134 refereed: TRUE issn: 21984182 citation: Bingi, K. and Ibrahim, R. and Karsiti, M.N. and Hassan, S.M. and Harindran, V.R.
