The results of flow properties of metal composites have been presented in this paper. Metal powder and fibers were mixed with plastic binder and mixes were developed by extrusion compounding. The rheological properties of the composite mixes were studied by using a ram type rheometer for the shear rate ranges required for injection molding. Spherical shaped aluminum powder and irregular shape aluminum alloy powders were used to study the effect of particle shape on the viscosity. Fibers of different lengths were substituted for powder in composite mixes. Results showed that metal mixes prepared from spherical shape powder were of lower viscosity compared to irregular shape powder particles. Rheological data showed that the composite mixes with longer fiber showed higher viscosity compared to the mixes with shorter fiber. However, increase of temperature reduced the viscosity of the mixes. date: 2007 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84883347250&partnerID=40&md5=4d4f2494ffdec02fd85f503a952b55b1 full_text_status: none publication: Advances in Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials - 2007, Proceedings of the 2007 International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials, PowderMet 2007 place_of_pub: Denver, CO pagerange: 238-246 refereed: TRUE isbn: 0979348854; 9780979348853 citation: Ahmad, F. and Mamat, O. and German, R.M. and Amir, N.
