Interactions of cations from the salt have been confirmed with hydroxyl (OH) and glycosidic linkage (COC) groups of dextran via Fourier transform infrared analysis. Electrolyte with 20 wt NH 4Br maximized the ionic conductivity up to (1.67 ± 0.36) 10 - 6 S cm - 1. The trend of conductivity has been verified by field emission scanning electron microscopy, where the electrolyte surface became rough as the concentration of NH 4Br exceeded 20 wt. The contribution of ions as the main charge carrier in the BPE is confirmed by transference number analysis as tion= 0.92 and te= 0.08. From linear sweep voltammetry, it is found that the highest conducting BPE in this work is electrochemically stable from 0 to 1.62 V. The fabricated electrochemical double-layer capacitor (EDLC) has been tested for 100 chargedischarge cycles and verified by cyclic voltammetry. © 2019, Indian Academy of Sciences. date: 2020 publisher: Springer official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85076739487&doi=10.1007%2fs12034-019-2008-9&partnerID=40&md5=86e242b1e64681aad52abfe02f98a844 id_number: 10.1007/s12034-019-2008-9 full_text_status: none publication: Bulletin of Materials Science volume: 43 number: 1 refereed: TRUE issn: 02504707 citation: Hamsan, M.H. and Shukur, M.F. and Aziz, S.B. and Yusof, Y.M. and Kadir, M.F.Z.
