Nevertheless, motorcycles also contribute to many issues such as emission, noise, traffic, and a few others. On top of that, motorcycle riders are exposed to various situations such as exposure to harsh weather, tendency of being hit by larger vehicles, and unexpected breakdown. This chapter discusses a study on the handling of motorcycles in the event when they are stranded. The primary concern here is on the safety of the riders and other road users. Although this chapter is not directly related to energy efficiency, it looks into an important aspect of a transport system that has a significant feature of low fuel consumption. The study was conducted through a survey and also via an interview with the local authority. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020. date: 2019 publisher: Springer Singapore official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85085815158&doi=10.1007%2f978-981-15-0102-9_10&partnerID=40&md5=5878768d92b1ed6f1e248f5c25c68cc0 id_number: 10.1007/978-981-15-0102-9₁₀ full_text_status: none publication: Energy Efficiency in Mobility Systems pagerange: 199-210 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9789811501029; 9789811501012 citation: Sulaiman, S.A. and Keat, C.S. and Seng, B.H. and Syahir Sazali, M. and Ashraf Azhar, M.
