Incorporation of fragile materials with polymer may enhance the flexibility of the materials itself. Here, graphitic carbon has been developed using a single-step process using laser scriber. This study used different percentage () of laser power during the laser scribing process. Surface morphology analysis indicates the porosity of graphitic carbon decrease with the increment of laser power due to the high thermal energy from the laser. In addition, oxygen content also increased due to graphitic carbon layer itself absorb oxygen from the atmosphere where partial oxidation take place during the laser scribing process. Raman spectrum shows the existence of graphitic band (G-band) around ~1580 cm-1, possible presence of graphene layers with high defects. © 2019 IEEE. date: 2019 publisher: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85078111138&doi=10.1109%2fSENSORSNANO44414.2019.8940090&partnerID=40&md5=c75af9ecda2deb104b82a681e867430d id_number: 10.1109/SENSORSNANO44414.2019.8940090 full_text_status: none publication: 2019 IEEE International Conference on Sensors and Nanotechnology, SENSORS and NANO 2019 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9781538656198 citation: Soaid, N.I. and Mohamed Saheed, M.S. and Mohamed Saheed, M.S. and Mohamed, N.M.
