However, misunderstood the therapist{\^a}??s instructions caused negative effects to the patient. Thus, Image-based virtual reality (IBVR) application was proposed to overcome this problem. Patients watched and navigated high realistic virtual environments in this application with virtual therapist instructions. Due to lack of research on the characteristics of IBVR application for reducing stress, this research investigated whether IBVR can be apply for GUT and also identified the characteristics of IBVR application that can reduce stress. In conducting this research, two steps were implemented which were preliminary study with three therapists{\^a}?? validation for IBVR application and experimental study which developed IBVR application, used repertory grid as the study instrument and finally, the results were analysed and also discussed. The results produced that IBVR application can be used to reduce stress but must developed with calm panoramic view, calm colour and calm sound. For the future research, EEG will be used to test the patient{\^a}??s level of stress before and after user interaction with IBVR application. {\^A}{\copyright} 2018, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc..
