This paper reviewed the performance of emerging dual-layer hollow fiber membrane, its fabrication via co-extrusion process, improvement, challenges, spinning parameters, advantages and disadvantages in comparison to single-layer hollow fiber membrane for natural gas purification. Development of delamination-free dual-layer hollow fibers via co-extrusion and phase inversion technology is one of the potential solutions for the use of expensive and brittle polymers for the outer selective layer and low cost polymers with high thermal and mechanical properties for the porous inner layer. © 2018 Elsevier B.V. date: 2018 publisher: Elsevier B.V. official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85041460964&doi=10.1016%2fj.jngse.2018.01.043&partnerID=40&md5=abbf27d0e5c8f4196c90b0782cfecf05 id_number: 10.1016/j.jngse.2018.01.043 full_text_status: none publication: Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering volume: 52 pagerange: 215-234 refereed: TRUE issn: 18755100 citation: Ullah Khan, I. and Othman, M.H.D. and Ismail, A.F. and Matsuura, T. and Hashim, H. and Nordin, N.A.H.M. and Rahman, M.A. and Jaafar, J. and Jilani, A.
