In light of this growing concern, we propose that safety annotation to be included as one of the pedestrian map attributes and using it to recommend a relatively safer route. Unlike motorist map, pedestrian map must also include pedestrian-oriented features and noticeable landmarks in order to optimize the path. This paper presents the techniques to determine relatively safe path, its future works and challenges. © 2010 IEEE. date: 2010 official_url: https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-78049419933&doi=10.1109%2fITSIM.2010.5561650&partnerID=40&md5=0708055b53b2d7c770737a33a4b04071 id_number: 10.1109/ITSIM.2010.5561650 full_text_status: none publication: Proceedings 2010 International Symposium on Information Technology - System Development and Application and Knowledge Society, ITSim'10 volume: 3 place_of_pub: Kuala Lumpur pagerange: 1376-1381 refereed: TRUE isbn: 9781424467181 citation: Yew, K.H. and Ha, T.T. and Paua, S.D.S.J.
