Abstract
The PID controller widely used controller across many disciplines due to robustness and simplicity. However, the PID will only perform at its best if the PID gains. To improve the performance of the Proportional-Integral-Derivative controller, latest metaheuristic algorithms are being adapted to tune the PID controller. Therefore, a PID tuning tool is developed to tune the PID controller using variations of the cuckoo search method for various engineering applications. © 2017 IEEE.
